District 2220

The results of the voting in election committee on elections of the District 2220 Governor

According to results, by rules established by Rotary International, an election committee on elections of the District 2220 Governor was established. It includes Andrei Danilenko, Governor 2006–2007, Vladimir Vasilkov, Governor 2008–2009 and Nadezhda Papp, Governor 2009–2010.

Applications with the names of the candidates on the Governor’s post 2010–2011, should be sent on appointed addresses, no later than in a month from this moment — 25.04.08

The candidates should satisfy some requests — be the members of one or several Rotary clubs during at least seven years and perform functions of the President of the club during one year or to be President Founder one of the clubs. The application must be the decision of the club, made at the meeting and signed by the secretary and President of the club.

District 2220 of Western Russia

On November 2005 meeting, the Board of Directors of Rotary International affirmed its decision of June 2004 to establish a new District (2220) in Western Russia, starting on July 1st, 2006. The first Russian Rotarian District 2220 began its work in July 2006.

All Russian Clubs of Western Russia, which were belonged to Districts 1430, 2370 and 2350, were attached to the new District. Establishment of the first Russian District indicates the growth of Rotary movement in Russia for the last 10 years.

2006-2007 Rotarian Year

Andrei Danilenko, the member of Rotary Club Moscow-Rossika is the first District 2220 Governor (2006—2007). Andrei is one of the founders of Rotary Clubs in Moscow and Dimitrov, which works today with his participation and support. Andrei is honorary member of many Russian, European and American Rotary Clubs.

Anatoly Voloshin

Member of Rotary Club of Togliatti since 1996, Past President 2000-2001, DGA of 2370 District in 2003-2006.

President of «FIA Bank» close corporation, member of Council of Trustees of Togliatti Social Fund, member of Coordinating Council of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togliatti, member of Municipal Strategic Council «20+1», Chairman of the Board of «Samara Loan Office». In 2002 Anatoly Voloshin was awarded with «The Person of the Year» title, in 2005 he got the prize as the best bank manager in «Social Programs» nomination. Anatoly Voloshin has been awarding for 4 years as a winner of municipal contest «The Benefactor of the Year» in «Charity for Children and Youth» nomination. He is an initiator of establishment of registered fund «Youth is the Builders of Future Togliatti».

Rotary in Russia Conference, June 2006

Rotary in Russia 2006 Conference in Moscow has become a symbolic event for Russian Rotarians. This was the first Conference in new established first Russian District 2220. It became the base for the new District work. Rotary International President Carl-Wilhelm Stanhammar, Rotary International Vice President Serge Gutteirone, Rotary International Council of Trustees member Caroline Jones, Rotary International Board members, District Governors, Rotarians and Rotaractors all over the Russia (Districts 1430, 2370, 5010 and 2350) were attended the Conference.

2007 District 2220 Assembly.

District 2220 Assembly took place on September 2007. Members and officers of Rotary and Rotaract Clubs attended this important event. The great honor for the District was coming and speech of Vladimir Donskoy, one of the first Russian Rotarians, Past DG 5010, member of Rotary International Committee, coordinator of Russian Rotary Membership Committee 2007—2008.

Assembly sittings gave Rotarians the possibility to discuss actual questions and problems and to find the ways for its solution, to change with the knowledge and experience and to find new fellows and partners in Rotary service.

Dear friends and colleagues!

Being the father of four children and the grandfather of five grandsons, I was lucky enough to lead many years of the life to the companies of children. Growing up own children, my wife Young and I applied many efforts to give them what all children most require: the reliable, cozy house full of love. Our children were our priority, and we always aspired to achieve that our children had a high-grade meal, the qualitative clothes, the qualified medical aid, worthy formation. We realized, how much to us has carried, that we can all this give them. We were grateful to destiny that never we had to speak the children: " We, alas, have nothing to eat today» or «We can not pay more for your school ».

When I was still the child, Korea was the poor country, and among children was a lot of such which went to bed hungry and could not go to school in the morning as to go there was no place. As rotarian, I well know, that till now set of children in the world are deprived that is the basic vital necessity: meal, clothes, a roof above a head, medical aid and formation. And as rotarian which besides and the father, I consider, that all these children — and my responsibility.

When I see own grandsons — happy, healthy, pupils of good schools — I should think of millions children who does not have all these advantages. I think of children who hardly has meal and only dirty drinking water. I think of children, which are sick of those illnesses, which it would be possible to prevent today and who does not have safe corner to fall asleep tonight. And I think of children, millions such children for every year who does not live before the fifth birthday.

December is a month families. This time to pay attention to our families, to involve them in the rotarian to work, to itself to send a call and to make even more for those who requires. It because so is a lot of families and so many children wait for our help, and we as rotarians, we can not pass by. We cannot and children should not calm down, while all, everywhere, will not receive chance to live a long and happy life. We should not calm down, while we shall not make Dream the Reality for each child in each house where today reign famine, illnesses, need. We should lay down to ourselves such aim.

Dear friends,

January marks the beginning of second half of year. This time to look back on already reached, to estimate our progress, and this time, to renew our determination in achievement of objects in view within the remained months. It is time to discuss and estimate the purposes of our clubs also as well as the purposes put by us before self personally as rotarians.

January — also month of Consciousness, time for us to consider, as ours values — and our own actions — influence public perception Rotary. Our strategic plan reveals five basic values which direct and conduct us while we define the rate in our second century of service of the organization. When we are known as rotarians, everything means that we do, is reflected in us entirely. When we live our basic values and are betrayed to the motto " Service above Myself «we build stronger organization Ротари and the best world for all.

Congress Rotary in Birmingham, England, on June, 21-24st 2009

Dear friends!

Here the longest also have ended, holidays in a year. We sincerely hope that all clubs of our district have earned already in full force!

Is glad to inform you that at us have appeared very much important occasion again to meet. On February, 21-22st 2009 г. The District Seminar devoted to questions of strengthening of clubs and developments of membership, and also to questions of work with Fund Rotary takes place. The chosen themes are allocating Rotary Int., as priority for carrying out of obligatory district seminars. The ending of our seminar will be Gala supper which takes place on February, 22nd. I think you guess to that we Gala supper, certainly will be devoted to Birthday Rotary! We shall not change already developed tradition, and we shall celebrate in an atmosphere of heat and fun very important for all us day!

The main results of Assembly are:
Social project «Support of talented children-orphans» was accepted as long-term District 2220 project.
Majority of Rotary Clubs of District voted for official registration of District 2220 in Russian Federation according to all rules of Rotary International.
Rotary Club of District 2220 will take part in elections of District Governor 2010-2011 and of District Representative in RI Council of Legislation.
