Our children from Novocherkassk

Rostov Club started to work with Novocherkassk Children House for handicapped children in 2001. First Rostov Club supported Orphanage with the books and writing materials, with the materials for children creation work. Rotarians used to sell children’s hand-made stuffs on auctions on Club parties and passed money to the children house. Club members and their spouses organize musical programs, shows and performances for children and their teachers, inviting actors and musicians. The first big project took place in 2003 when Rotarians set up Internet Class in the Children House. Children got a chance to study how to use computers and work with Internet and E-mail. Internet Traffic expenses are covered by Rotary Club every year.

Then there were Children Playground and Digital photo laboratory, buying of computers for NCH alumni and wheelchairs for handicapped boys and girls.

Today 7 years friendship ties Rotarians, children, their teachers and educators. Alexey Pancratiev, the pioneer of the project now serves in Canada Rotary Club, but he is still remembered by children as their best friend. These children, their teachers and educators have become «own» for every member of the Club long time ago. But the most important that is done in the framework of this project – is communication. The thing, that is deficient for them. The simple human contact. And when you see, how beautiful and clever they are, how they are happy of your arrival, how their eyes sparkle, then you understand – why you have become a Rotarian.
